What is your vision for a more resilient, sustainable, socially connected and economically vital Yachats? The City has been working on a Renewable Energy & Resilient Civic Campus Plan that considers these factors as part of an Oregon Department of Energy Planning grant. Please join us to learn more at an online Open House, Thursday, December 14, from 6-8 pm. This is the third and last public workshop and perhaps the most important as we will be picking a top project to pursue for a large construction grant for renewable solar energy, back-up power and help with resiliency/emergency response. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
What will happen at the meeting? An overview of the Preliminary Draft Resiliency Plan will be shared as well as final project alternatives presented. The top selected project will be recommended for an Oregon Department of Energy (ODOE) $1,000,000 construction grant. Community members can give input on their emergency planning needs and priority projects to pursue now and in follow-up possible planning and construction grants for other priority projects in the Resiliency Plan.
How can I learn more? View the presentation slides from the first Open House which includes design alternatives, and read about the project on the City’s website http://www.yachatsoregon.org/ODOEenergygrant
