Summer Reading Program

The Yachats Library participates in the nationwide summer reading program.

Theme

Each summer program follows a theme, and the books and activities reflect the theme.  
In honor of the 50th anniversary of Neil Armstrong's  walk on the Moon, this years theme is "A Universe of Stories". Click here to see this year's schedule.

Rewards

Each child receives a t-shirt, and decides on a summer reading goal. We track the child’s goals weekly, and all efforts are celebrated at the end of the program with a Pizza Party, prizes and entertainment!

Final Week Michael Bradley performs

39 children received their governor awards for meeting their reading program goals!  All the kids received a gift bag donated by the Yachats Ladies Club and a free take home book donated by Friends of the Library.
