It has been brought to our attention that spruce trees have been losing their needles. The Oregon Department of Forestry has said that they believe it was caused by the spruce aphid. Defoliation resulting from aphids rarely causes mortality, and we have seen this in previous years. 2017 was a particularly bad aphid year, and all of those trees survived.
