The Census Bureau’s Extended Timeline is a Victory for Communities
The Census has extended the self-enumeration deadline to October 31st, 2020 to ensure community advocates and hard-to-count campaigns like ours have more time to reach our critical communities.
In a crisis, census numbers are used to determine how much aid to send a state, how many medical supplies, ventilators, masks, and other critical services. In Oregon, we know many hard-to-count communities are on the frontline - from the farmworkers ensuring we have food to the cashiers at the market, it is more important than ever we are counted!
Complete Census by Phone
People with PO Boxes face more challenges in completing their census. Through the advocacy of many groups, including WCO, the phone lines have been upgraded and our communities can take the census via the phone.
For community members who have a PO Box, need additional support in filling out the census or don’t have easy access to the internet, call 844-330-2020 to take the census by phone.
