Every 10 years, the US Census Bureau undertakes a mammoth task: counting all the people residing in the United States. This count affects the allocation of funding for our community’s public resources such as roads, how we plan for the future, and our voice in government.
Simply Online Form
For the first time, in 2020 the U.S. Census Bureau will accept responses online. The process will be quick and secure. You can respond to the census in less time than it takes to finish your morning coffee. You’ll still be able to respond by mail.
No Registration Number Is OK
You do not need to have received a registration number to complete the census. You will be asked to provide your physical street address instead.
Please see the Census website for more information and to complete your form. Or go to census.gov.
For Vacation Rental Homes
A sizable proportion of Lincoln County ‘housing units’ are vacation or second homes, or short-term rentals and ‘vacant’ because no one lives there ‘most of the time. If you know vacation rental owners, please urge them to complete a self-response for that property address. Toward the end of the Census Self Response application, they should annotate that they “Usually live somewhere else” (at their primary or main home).
