September 14 Update on Donations and Fires
Thank you again for your incredible support and generosity in your donations for evacuees from the fires. Due to that generosity, we have been asked to hold off on additional donations at this time.
Because of the tremendous support, they have what they need for right now and are focusing on distributing the supplies to people in need in the Lincoln City area.
If and when additional donations are needed, we will get the word out again here in Yachats. To contribute financially, you can donate to the American Red Cross.
We continued to work over the weekend with people from Otis who lost their homes and have been staying in Yachats. They’ve expressed how much they appreciate the generosity from this community. They plan to depart this morning.
Firefighters have made progress with the Echo Mountain Complex fire east of Lincoln City. It is now about 25% contained and its perimeter has not grown.
Yachats remains under a complete burn ban that applies to wood, charcoal, and other flame sources that cannot be turned off with a valve.
Please continue to be cautious with time spent outdoors. While the air quality is improving, we’re still not back to our normal levels.
